SYNOPSIS
Set in 1871, our story follows the healing journey of John, a carpenter stuck in a cycle of grief. Six months after the death of his wife, John's life is disrupted again when two orphans show up on his doorstep. John realizes they are the orphans he and his wife had sent for before she died. To save them from being shipped off on an “orphan train,” (as was customary at the time) he tries to find a family who will take them in before they get too emotionally attached. The story explores the process of healing from grief and the role others play in that journey.
